Misty Morning Family Breakfast

Here the male Common Loon delivers breakfast to the female. She then would turn and feed her two chicks their breakfast. I would be out on the lake in my small wooden boat before sunrise most mornings floating along with the loon family and they slowly became quite comfortable with my presence. This was in early morning light just before sunrise as the mist was rising off the water. I am looking forward to spending time with the loons again this spring.
